ABOUT

Where I've Been

I've chased a dream to make an impact on the world for as long as I can remember. My heart has always been in serving the public sector, and I've trained my brain to analyze data, communicate stories, and produce results to effect change. I've worked for nonprofits, governments, consulting firms and evidence-based programs, all in the pursuit of making today's world a little bit better than yesterday's.

Where I'm Going

I have a lot of interests, and have amassed a broad portfolio of experiences. Over the years, I've learned that I want to continue to pursue creating social impact, while focusing on the following:

  • ANALYZING problems, people and data to find opportunities for impact

  • CREATING content,  tools, and action plans to effect change

  • COMMUNICATING stories and solutions to drive consensus and achieve results.

MY EXPERIENCE

As a professional in my field, I’ve had the opportunity to hold a variety of roles in many different companies throughout the years. Take a look below to learn more about my background and experience.

SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST, STRATEGY & GROWTH, JOBS FOR THE FUTURE

July 2022 to present

I advise and guide the development of organizational strategy as well as unit specific-strategies, contributing to both the creation of strategies themselves as well as creating content to document and communicate strategies. I work with leaders across the organization to consult on key aspects of their unit strategies and help ensure strategies align to overarching organizational goals. I also lead aspects of programmatic development around new partnership initiatives, including defining partnership scopes and building budgets. I help manage strategic partnerships such as mergers and acquisitions and create business cases for targeted partnership opportunities. I also provide research and consulting on market trends and provide analysis to support strategic decision-making around which programs and partnerships to prioritize for growth.

SR. SPECIALIST, RESEARCH, HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL

August 2020 - July 2022

I supported the development and implementation of the U.S. Research and Learning agenda at Habitat, aimed at helping to prove and improve our impact. My work included creating communications, tools and resources to help our affiliate network understand and leverage the research our team produces, and strategizing ways to engage our affiliates in our work. I also worked on our research projects through research design, literature reviews, survey developments, and report writing. I provided project management leadership to several key projects, including development and management of project plans, and liaised with internal and external stakeholders to champion broader adoption of the evidence-based case for Habitat.

SR. SPECIALIST, CUSTOMER RELATIONS, HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL

October 2018 - August 2020

As the Customer Relations specialist on the Donated Product team,  I managed the team communications and improved our processes to meet the needs of our affiliate customer base. I reviewed our operations and processes to develop strategies for improvements and tools to support improved cross-unit collaboration. In this role, I also developed and implemented a communications plan for our team, managed monthly content planning and creation, and collaborated with other teams to promote our work. I owned feedback channels and was responsible for synthesizing feedback and usage metrics to identify ways to improve customer satisfaction. I also led a multi-team continuous improvement process aimed at reducing delays and eliminating waste in evaluating donated product opportunities.

SENIOR STRATEGY ANALYST, MST SERVICES

January 2018 - October 2018

I supported the growth and sustainability of teams implementing Multisystemic Therapy, an evidence-based treatment for troubled youth, by providing financial analyses and operational assessments for MST Clients. In analyzing their data, I developed strategies and recommendations to improve performance. I supported the overall growth of the MST network by creating a dashboard to monitor the performance and health of MST teams, and by providing research and analysis for business cases and strategic visions to grow the impact of MST. I also led content creation to support organizational marketing campaigns through white papers, blog posts, and email.

SENIOR RESEARCH ANALYST, SRI INTERNATIONAL

I worked in a consultant role on projects for government and non-profit clients focused on innovation-driven economic development. My tasks included project management, from budget and timeline development to task tracking and progress reporting; stakeholder coordination and communication; research and data analysis; and project synthesis, reporting and communication.

ANALYST, U.S, GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY OFFICE

EDUCATION

M.S. IN PUBLIC POLICY AND MANAGEMENT
HEINZ COLLEGE, CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY

August 2013 - May 2015

My graduate degree was focused on data-driven decision making in the public sector. I took courses in Policy Analysis, Program Evaluation, SAS and R, Management Science, Database Management, Organizational Design, and Financial Analysis, among others. Through this program I developed a deep appreciation for evidence-based practices, a fondness for visualizing data, and a reverence for effective communication.

BACHELORS OF ART IN: POLITICAL SCIENCE; INTERNATIONAL STUDIES; FRENCH; AND COMPARATIVE LITERATURE
SCHREYER HONORS COLLEGE, PENN STATE UNIVERSITY

August 2008 - May 2012

Why have one major, when you can have four? My undergraduate experience highlights a central tenet of my worldview: a passion for working across domains and drawing connections between disparate fields, synthesizing ideas and theories to develop new perspectives. Political science provided models and frameworks to conduct analyses, while comparative literature taught me how to use culture to examine human motivations; simultaneously, international studies and French expanded my horizons beyond the borders of the U.S.

MY SKILLS

My biggest strength is my ability to learn quickly, and leverage new skills to make an impact. Below are some of the skills I've honed over the years.

COMMUNICATION

Oral, Written, Data Visualization

Communication is the key to success – none of my other skills would be nearly as impactful without my ability to reach audiences through communication and storytelling. I love the process of searching for the exact right words to impact audiences, and excel in crafting key messages that achieve organizational goals. I also enjoy public speaking, and take advantages of opportunities to present at conferences and meetings when possible.

DATA SYNTHESIS AND ANALYSIS

Excel, Power BI

I love synthesizing data sources to identify themes and patterns - I'm skilled at finding connections and communicating the key insight stakeholders need to know. I've worked with Excel, Power BI and R to analyze and visualize data, and know how to create compelling presentations to communicate the stories - and solutions - associated with the data.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION

Project Plans, Budgets, Spreadsheets

I'm a highly organized person, and am way too enthusiastic about using spreadsheets to manage plans and budgets. I'm trained in project management and skilled at developing project plans and work breakdowns, tracking progress, and ensuring task completion on time and within budget.

PROGRAM EVALUATION

Research design, data collection

I am skilled in designing research methodologies to insure internal and external validity; identifying metrics and outcomes to track progress; creating and implementing data collection plans, such as survey instruments and interview protocols; and synthesizing and assessing results to evaluate impact.

CONTENT STRATEGY AND CREATION

Adobe InDesign, Canva

I greatly enjoy the process of writing sharp, compelling copy, and designing layouts to best communicate to audiences. My analytic nature lends itself to content strategy, as I enjoy studying audiences to identify the most persuasive content and channels to reach them. I’m proficient in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, use Canva regularly to create designs for personal and professional use, and can leverage software such as PowerPoint when needed to create layouts and infographics.

Black Notebook

"We must dare to think 'unthinkable' thoughts. We must learn to explore all the options and possibilities that confront us in a complex and rapidly changing world. We must learn to welcome and not to fear the voices of dissent. We must dare to think about 'unthinkable things' because when things become unthinkable, thinking stops and action becomes mindless."
